24 Downing Street
House No. 4
Palampur-600210

8th May, 2020

The District Magistrate
Palampur Urban
Palampur-10

Sir,
Congestion on the Street

This is in regard to the scarcity of space on the streets. The vendors have been stalling the smooth to and fro of the public as well as vehicles. This has caused a lot of trouble for the general people.

The phenomenon has been observed for quite some time now, especially on 24 Downing Street. They spread their goods and items on the pavement for sale. It becomes difficult to walk and at times people bump into each other. From newspapers to jewellery to fruits and vegetables and handkerchief and caps, there are carts selling all types of things.

It would be great if you can intervene and suggest a suitable place for the vendors and hawkers to sell their good. Alternatively, they can be asked to occupy the crossing or the Chowk only from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the evening when people leave their houses for a walk. That way they can approach the customers better and not be an impediment during school/working hours.

I shall be grateful if this can be dealt at the earliest. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,
Kevin Portman

How to Write a Good Essay in 10 Steps

Essay Writing is an integral part of examinations. It is generally meant to test the ability to think and structure the thoughts systematically. I will explain here how to approach a topic and accomplish it with ease. Once you learn the ‘what’, the ‘how’ becomes a piece of cake. Essays can be of variant types and styles. For now, let’s categorise it under four heads: a) Argumentative Essays - I find this the simplest option and most marks fetching. This is the type where you are supposed to choose a side and write either for or against the motion. b) Narrative Essays - Such a topic asks you to narrate an incident. The best way to approach it is the ‘5Ws and an H’ formula. That is, frame your article by asking yourself W hat, W here, W hen, W hy, W ho and H ow related to the incident that you will be writing about. c) Descriptive Essays - The reader or examiner expects you to describe something or somewhere, it may be an experience or a visit to any place. d) Reflectiv...

5 Fun Films to watch and learn English from

Here's a list of my favourite films that are fun to watch and learn the English Language at the same time. 1.  Harry Potter Series - This has to be at the top. I've been following it from the time the franchise came into limelight, perhaps 2003. Both books and movies retain the British feel in its setting, appearance, actors and the dialogues, of course! You are not only going to learn everyday words and gain some school conversation tips but get ready to be mesmerised by the magical plot. It's like a drug, watching one shall not be enough.  2.  Becoming Jane -  Yes, you guessed it right, it is the biopic on the life of  Jane Austen . Apart from  Anne Hathaway's   endearing  performance and the English village of Hampshire, you have the heart-throb  James McAvoy  to look forward to. His native British accent and the brewing romance between Miss Austen and Mr Lefroy shall keep you hooked till the end. 3.  Atonement -...
